National Umpire Course

October 13th the ITF TUIC gave another NUC, in French, in the Brussels region. The use of the electronic system was included, and there were separate sessions for beginners, advanced umpires and IT assistants.

Report by Sb. Amber Dellaert:

It was a busy 13th of October with lots of electronics in Etterbeek.
During the morning, the beginners course was held as usual. A part of basic theory, followed by practice with the official electronical system for the first time.
Lots of news today: new rules, new buttons, new computers and new systems. All this for patterns and sparring.
It was a busy morning.

In the afternoon, the younger audience dropped out and experienced reinforcements joined. Again, a lot of new information was shared and time flew by.
Team patterns, pre-arranged sparring and team sparring were discussed.
The procedure for center referee was carefully reviewed and again far too few buttons were pressed.

We are looking forward to the referee trial tournament on November 9. Where we can test the system and the people at the controls.
