Friday October 10th

The day started with junior patterns, with both Helin and Lara Capa competing in the female I° degree division. Lara faced a competitor from New Zealand, Helin was up against Argentina. Both girls performed very well, made a lot of progression again compared to the previous championships, but lost with the smallest difference the first bout.

The afternoon session was quite busy, with all of the senior male and female sparring. The first one to enter the ring was Rune Schuddinck, against Spain. Although the second round of the bout Rune adjusted well, the spanish opponent was stronger, although also a bit too aggressive. In the same category, yet another part of the draw, and second to enter the ring this afternoon, was Vladimir Kim. He faced Germany. Vladimir started well, but at the end of the first round the german oppponent took over, leaving Vladimir in the end with a loss. Third competitor to enter the ring was Maximilien Boyens, against Sweden. Also Max had to admit the adversaire was stronger. Altan Rinchinov, the bronze medal of the last European Championships, faced an experienced competitor of Moldova. It was a draw until the very last second… and then Moldova made a last point, leaving Altan with the loss of the first bout.

Alice Vrinat won against Germany in the first bout, with 3 of the referees giving her the win. Next opponent: Poland. The polish girl won the bout with 4 to 0. Last competitor of the day was Jérémie Bewa, up against Scotland. Although Jérémie fought with spirit and heart, the scottish made the most of the points and won the bout.
