Update on restrictions Covid-19

As from June 8th on, gyms can reopen the doors for indoor training sessions, however with the same restrictions as before: e.g. without contact, without the use of dressing rooms, toilets, showers, in groups of maximum 20 persons (instructor included), without the use of general used material, with respect to social distancing (except for children up to 12) etc.

July 1st more will be possible again: contact will be allowed again, groups can extend to up to 50 persons, changing rooms will reopen etc. Of course it’s still necessary to wash the hands, use desinfectant materials and so on.

Restrictions Covid-19

As from May 18th on, sportclubs can restart their classes under certain conditions:

  • groups can not be bigger than 20 participants, instructor(s) included
  • classes can only be conducted outdoors, and without the use of changing rooms, showers etc.
  • contact is not allowed
  • with respect to the measures, e.g. social distancing

Next steps will not be taken before June 8th.

Covid-19 Update

Dear members,

As from Monday May 4th on some of the measures taken in the battle against the Covid-19 virus will be changed, depending on the evolution of the pandemic. This will happen in several phases, with May 11th, May 18th and June 8th as next points.

In the first phases the re-opening of sportclubs, such as martial arts gyms, is not on the agenda. Dojangs will not be able to restart before May 18th, and even afterwards for now there are still some questionmarks.

However, we are following the situation and some authorities have been informed about our concerns, as with respect to (extra) precautionary measures, personal hygiëne (which is always very important for Taekwon-Do ), adapted classes etc. a lot can already been done.

As soon as we have more news, you will be informed.

Meanwhile, stay connected, keep on moving and practising. Most clubs and instructors have set up online classes through all kinds of different channels. ITF has organized some webinars and charla’s, and May 17th ITF-Belgium will host the Zoom Kids Day & Zoom Day of Taekwon-Do. If necessary, more activities will come up.

Stay safe, stay strong and take care of yourselves and the others,

Master Annick

Keep up the good work

Dear members ITF-Belgium,

Week 4 of the restrictions and measures in the battle against Covid-19. I hope all of you are still in good health. For many of us the situation is getting hard: no school, no work or having to do telework, no contact with family, friends, relatives, colleagues, no classes, no visits to restaurants, no travels etc.

But we really need to keep up the good work a bit longer! We’re on the right track thanks to all of us, all of our hard work, but we need to keep this pace to win the battle against the virus. Luckily as Taekwon-Do practitioners we have enough perseverance to do this, even if things are getting rough and hard.

Some can get a bit annoyed, having to stay at home, between the walls of our houses. We’d like to ‘break out’….and then we can rely on our selfcontrol.

Let’s just do this, all together, to be able to meet again soon, to be able to reopen the dojangs and do what we like most: Taekwon-Do, to be able to restart classes.

Try to find something positive in this whole situation, try to find something beautiful each day: the solidarity amongst persons, the creativity coming along, the sun who’s shining, the full moon at night, the birds singing the whole day, the smog that seemed to have dissappeared, the flowers in all colours, the air that seems to be much fresher these days, the time we received to take a break etc. I believe all of you, all of us, can find something positive in this whole situation, even if it’s only one thing.

So: keep on doing what you’re doing. Stay in contact with each other, with us, through other channels.

Keep safe and healthy, keep strong, take care of yourself and the others (your family and beloved ones in the first place), stay at home and keep on moving,

Master Annick
