Meeting TUIC

The Tournament, Umpire and IT-Committee TUIC of ITF-Belgium held its last meeting of the year on Sunday December 4th. Presided by Master Eddy Van Damme and with the participation of Sabum Benito Martinez and Boosabums Sophie Ardnoy, Gabriel Garay and Julien Goulard as members.

The agenda: the evaluation of the Belgian Championships 2022 and analyzing the different feedbacks; proposals and changes for the next Championships 2023 in Ghent, in terms of professionalization and corresponding with international standards and satisfaction of the competitors. There were also discussions on inscription fees, special techniques, power breaking, sparring categories and prearranged sparring norms, among others.

We are aware of the difficulties on the implementation of the electronic system due to the international situation. NUC’s pedagogic method and the possibilities of using videos were discussed too. The TUIC keeps working to improve the quality and professionality of our competitions in the national level and its influence in the preparation of our competitors for the international level.

Some important points were set for the TUIC’s report for the Annual Meeting in January 2023.

Tafisa Interact Conference

On December 2nd Master Annick Van Driessche was representing ITF on the Tafisa Interact online Conference, speaking about Sports for All and the initiatives ITF has in these fields.

First Tournament, Umpire and IT-Committee (TUIC-)meeting in 2022

On Sunday, August 28th, the TUIC of ITF-Belgium hold its first presential meeting after the long period of Covid, in the meeting room of the sports hall in Ottignies. The chairman Master Eddy Van Damme led the discussions in which also participated Boosabum Sophie Ardenoy, Boosabum Julien Goulard, Boosabum Gabriel Garay and Sabum Benito Martinez.
Gabriel Garay was welcomed as a new member of the TUIC. The agenda turned around actual situation and prognoses about electronical rings, materials from Germany, IT-education and Sportdata, the participation of Sophie as Computer Operator for World Cup in October, the TUIC’s financial status, the evaluation of the National Umpire Courses and modalities for the future and the preparation of the Belgian Championships in Jambes.

This was a very productive meeting held in a good ambiance and spirit to go forward in the professionalization and quality of the umpiring and tournament organization in Belgium. The morning ended by sharing a very nice Korean food.

27th Tafisa World Congress

Portoroz, Slovenia June 8th-11th 2022

Master Annick Van Driessche was representing the International Taekwon-Do Federation, as Board Member, on the World Congress of Tafisa (The Association for International Sports for All). ITF is one of the 56 international members (out of 400 members) of the association, as ‘Sports for All’ is also an important issue in Taekwon-Do.

As representant of ITF, Master Annick took part in the 1st International Members Meeting, the signing of the INTERACT Pledge, a commitment for ‘Sports for All’, the reading of the Portoroz Declaration and the General Assembly, with also the elections of the new board.

General Assembly ITF-Vlaanderen & ITF-Belgium

For the second year in a row the General Assembly ITF-Vlaanderen eV vzw & ITF-Belgium had to be done through digital platforms. However, the meeting went on smoothly. The board, instructors of the affiliated clubs, the committees and coaches gathered to have an overview on what happened in 2021 and the planning for the upcoming year.
