Grading VII°degree

On December 10th in Dortmund, Germany Annick Van Driessche was promoted to Master VII°degree, under guidance of Grandmaster Kim Ung Lan and GrandMaster Rolf Becking.

The grading consisted of tul (Tong-il, So-san, Yon-gae and Eui-am), sambo, ibo & ilbo matsogi, hosinsul, sparring, 3 breaking techniques and a theoretical part (which took about 40 minutes). Annick did her grading together with Nigel Stobie (Ireland), who was also succesfully promoted to Master.

 

Open Challenge Cup

Jambes, Sunday December 3rd

On this second Open Challenge Cup of 2017, in the ADEPS Centre Sportif in Jambes (Namur), 12 affiliated school were present. There was competition in tul & sparring for coloured as well as black belts, youth, juniors and seniors and kids sparring for the youngest competitors (3-7).

For the first time the Sportsdata system was used.

Belgian competitor selected for the Dutch ITF Gala

Belgium national teammember Margaux Pollefeyt (I°degree) has been selected for the ITF Gala II in Pijnacker, The Netherlands on December 2nd. The Gala is organized by Sportschool Tim Kool. Margaux will represent Belgium in the open junior female class for sparring. She will compete against 5 other female juniors. Amongst them 2 World Champions.

The level will be quite high. We’re sure Margaux will do us proud. Good luck!

Day of Taekwon-Do 2017

The 2017 Day of Taekwon-Do ITF-Belgium has been organized in Jambes, in the ADEPS-complex, Sunday November 19th.

There were 10 instructors and 120 participants present, from all ages beginning as from 4 years on, white, coloured as well as black belts. The focus today was on fundamental movements & tul, sambo-, ibo, ilbo matsogi & pre-arranged free sparring, hosinsul and sparring. After the warming-up the participants were divided into several groups, according to their age and grade. In the end there was still a general cooling-down.

The instructors for the day : Master Frank Vanberghen (VIII°), Annick Van Driessche (VI°), Virginia Dionisi (VI°), Eddy Van Damme (VI°), Patrick Crevecoeur (V°), Tom Van De Sijpe (IV°), Stefan Hendrickx (IV°), Erik Van Hoeck (II°), Esther Meulemeester (II°) and Terence Bewa (I°).

It was great seeing the dedication and passion of the instructors and the motivation of the participants. All participants went home with a certificate of participation.

The instructors hope to see all of you back on the next Day of Taekwon-Do, in 2018.
